If you follow this site you may have noticed that in April I stopped doing the monthly update I started back in 2019. These last months have been a bit hard and I failed to get the energy to follow the update scheme I self-imposed so I’m going to break with that and do, at least for this one, a simpler one.

I’ll focus then on what’s been going on recently.

Personal

Late July was busy because the kid was not attending any summer camp as in the previous weeks so Alba was fully booked attending him and me covering out of working hours. My parents-in-law acquired a beach apartment in Alcossebre (Castelló) that we are enjoying right now, but that also means we got into an empty place. The free location came with the task of getting furniture and appliances. It’s August so that means things are not as smooth as usual (that’s a Spanish thing).

Because we were not 100% sure to get the apartment on time, for the first few days of my two week break we booked a few days in Benifallet, a town close to this place. We enjoyed the hotel and being by the Ebre river (the biggest river in the Iberian Peninsula) and surroundings.

Unfortunately, the kid got some lung infection, nothing severe. It seems Alba is also getting the same infection but hopefully with the antibiotics it should pass quickly for both of them. I’m fine so far, but fingers-crossed.

There’ s still a few more PTO days that should be quiet and easy in Alcossebre, setting up appliances and enjoying the swimming pool and the beach.

Entertainment

Over the last weeks I’ve enjoyed a few TV Shows: The House of Dragon and the two first seasons of The Bear were the highlights.

I haven’t read much, just Cosas Terribles and currently reading Cosas Terribles 2, both from Fran Ferriz. I’m enjoying a lighter read after taking too much to finish The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K Leguin. As always you can find my Bookwyrm account at lectura.social on my links section.

It’s been a while since my last podcast fiction show. I enjoyed El Simulacro from the El Extraordinario team, the same that previously produced other great shows like Blum and Crímenes El Musical.

That’s a wrap. Have a great August!!
