On the personal side September was an easy month just enjoying the last summer weeks, with lots of city activities including a visit to the city zoo and a nice hike with some friends and our kids. It was nice to get some fresh air!

👨‍💻 Professional

On this month I’ve continued working on learning and understanding better how Elastic basemaps are created and maintained, making a lot of progress. This is going to be my main focus for the upcoming months.

Elastic is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the company so we had the chance to do a small celebration here in Valencia with a small picnic in the beach, enjoying the late summer weather.

❤️ Community

We had our September geobeers at the local community, first after summer break and I hope we will keep the pace of at least a monthly gathering to have a chat together. Also the very same day I presented Kibana and Elastic Maps at a local coworking place where a colleague works frequently. In fact, that is also my closest coworking and I’m pretty sure I’ll be also using the facilities from time to time.

Finally in September I had my first trip to Madrid to attend an event hosted by my previous employer, CARTO. It was great to reconnect with some old workmates and see again some other geospatial fellows.
