π Personal
Last month has been all about nursing Bernat. We are doing pretty well I think. A common question is about how well are we sleeping, and on that front I’d say we are doing decently well. The kid is breastfeeding during the day but to give Alba some rest I’m giving him a couple of bottles a day at night and early in the morning. Apart from that, and with the COVID situation, our days are mostly at home with one or two walks outside to stretch the legs, get groceries, etc.
π¨βπ» Professional
At this moment, being in parental leave means I’m pretty much disconnected to the everyday stuff. I still lurk email, slack, and github issues when I have the time but that’s it, and mostly because there’s some paperwork I need to attend.
β€οΈ Community
This last month I could attend remotely the FOSDEM geospatial devroom, and I’m giving some support to some friends that keep working on the strets after women project, but that’s it.
π Reading
I’m almost finished with The Dispossessed by Ursula K Leguin. I read a small book in Spanish about personal finances, nothing great, but a good one to point to for people that never worked on their savings or investments. I also received the translation into Spanish of the Permanent Portfolio from Craig Rowland, but that’s very likely going to join my queue π.
On the audiobooks side after finishing The Richest man in Babylon by George S Clason I haven’t been able to focus on anything else from my library. I have The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K Leguin, but I want first to finish The Dispossessed.
In the whatβs next/postponed queue, my usual non-fiction books:
- The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham
- How charts lie: getting smarter about visual information by Alberto Cairo
- Work Rules by Laszlo Rock
- Range: Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World by David Epstein
