π¨βπ» Professional
Approaching my planned parental leave starting in six weeks, if everything goes ok and the πΆ arrives on time π€, most of my work focus goes into Elastic Map Service. We are also planning some community activities for December where I will have some βοΈ writing and translating πͺπΈ.
β€οΈ Community
I’ve been more involved lately in a project from GeoChicas called Las calles de las mujeres (streets named after women) where we are going to cntribute Valencia streets but I’m also contributing some changes that could potentially benefit the full project.
π Personal
A small project I’ve been polishing lately is my πΈ pictures website https://media.jorgesanz.net/. I want to keep adding old albums into it and improve the site navigation now that the number of albums is growing. I don’t know if I will be able to add more stuff next month but I’d love to spend time on picking the pictures from my roadtrip to πΊπΈ from 2018.
With Alba’s pregnancy π€° arriving to the last quarter, we are finishing to get all the stuff for the kid. Pandemic restrictions are rising, we are expecting stronger confinement rules to arrive, meaning less family gatherings, restaurants, etc. We stopped almost all friend visits long ago so not a big change on that end.
π Reading
Continuing listening through Deathβs End from Cixin Liu, only four hours or so to finish it. My next audio book will be The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K Leguin. I’m wondering if I should re-purchase the books from my queue below as audio books π€. Finally today Rey Blanco from Juan GΓ³mez Jurado has been releaned and it will be my next read definitely.
And in the whatβs next/postponed queue, my usual non-fiction books:
- The Dispossessed by Ursula K. Le Guin
- The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham
- How charts lie: getting smarter about visual information by Alberto Cairo
- Work Rules by Laszlo Rock
- Range: Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World by David Epstein
